Dear Yallingup Steiner School Community, I hope you all had lovely Easter break. It is always special to get that little bit of extra time to spend with family and friends. Please have a good read of this week's newsletter. There is still a bit to get through in the last couple of week's to the end of term and more holidays. If you could take particular care with parking around the School, especially in times of high traffic it would be very much appreciated. We know it is challenging here due to the limited space but our primary responsibility and care has to be to keep everyone safe. Please be very conscious and very slow. I hope you all get to enjoy the Harvest table and the Autumn celebrations this week and to marvel over your brave, primary children as they do their Courage Test. Warm regards, {phocadownload view=file|id=176|text=YSS…

Sculpture by the Bay

Tuesday, 08 March 2016 09:13
Class Four/Five’s Giant Knitting sculpture was greatly admired by the many thousands of people who visited Sculpture by the Bay over the past weekend. The piece also won the Emerging Artist award from Happs Winery. This was a remarkable achievement given the high standard of the other works and the fact that our 10 and 11 year olds were competing against adults. The work certainly stood up proudly and showcased the School beautifully. Lots of people were involved in the construction of the work and we would like to sincerely thank Annie Malcolm for taking the prime role in not only inspiring the children but being hands on with the whole process; coming up with the vision, purchasing the soft materials, with dyeing the 240m plus of muslin, the knitting and being there to erect the sculpture at 6.30am and volunteer at the event. Konrad was the facilitator of the…
