Autumn Equinox

Wednesday, 25 March 2015 15:57
In preparation for the Autumn Equinox, the primary students busied themselves in order to create a seasonal installation in the playground. Collection and pattern- making took the chill out of the changing season and a representation of the constellation of Pisces, surrounded by the planets took shape over three days.  Materials were sourced from around the school. On Friday, the children gathered together (in a beautiful silence) and joined the stars together with their outstretched bodies to celebrate the day. It was wonderful to witness so much co-operation and busyness, imagination and will power. The Michaelic impulse runs strong in our school.

Wearable Arts -CONGRATULATIONS C 6

Friday, 07 November 2014 16:28
Shearwater’s Wearable Arts is a unique performance event that engages the school community in realising a futuristic educational vision. Through the agency of a range of interconnected arts, the community is asked to enter a wearable work of art in keeping with the theme of the show. This year’s Wearable Art – Starfall - turned its gaze towards the starry sky, following the journey of a particular starlight quality known sometimes as Sophia or Wisdom. Her appearance in our world is reflected in the arrival of every child onto Earth - and her experiences are a mirror for the individual destiny encounters that every teenager must go through. The final section ‘Finding Atlantis’ seeks to visualise the harmony of the graduating student, committed to their life journey, having understood that all personal hindrances in time can be overcome. Class 6 at Yallingup Steiner School students have been busily working on…
