Class Five Musings! We have begun the year on the high seas and the battle fields of Ancient Greece. Odysseus and Achilles have led the way into an intriguing world of interrelationships and a web of cause and effect. The children, captivated by the classical tales, are astute to the hubris contained in any action of disregard. Our recent focus on drawing in the afternoon sessions has given rise to pieces that reflect balance and control in their beauty. This is what the Ancient Greeks and Class Fives have in common and it is a joy to behold. We are currently aboard the Argo with Jason and his heroes, in search of the Golden Fleece. Who would have thought that Herakles, the most notorious of them all, would decline an offer of leadership and give young Jason, who had already shown himself to be easily led, the helm. Not…

The Generosity of our P&F enabled all children in classes 1 through to 6 to receive new desks, which were made locally by a parent. Parents & children came together in a ceremony to oil and buff their own desk. The children took to the task with vigour .
