Just as a follow up on the Giant Knitting the School wanted to let the wider community know what a great success this has been as a tool to promote the School; overall our very amateur video which was primarily made for the knitters parents has reached 83 800. The photo taken by SW Life & Style has had more than 11 320 ‘shares’.
The School has been approached by the City of Melville to exhibit the piece for sale at the Heathcote sculpture exhibition and also received recognition and encouragement from all over the world from Sculptors and craftspeople. We have even been approached by an excellence in teacher organization from California and will have an article published on the piece by an international textile magazine later in the year.
We are extremely grateful to the P&F for purchasing the work for the price of the materials. The plan is now to mount the Giant Knitting, hopefully on a ‘slab of timber’ on wheels to enable it to be exhibited on a regular basis. It is anticipated this will happen on Konrad’s return next term.
