“I would very much like to bring down two groups of Year 10 students to the Yallingup area; the first from Sunday 13th Nov to Friday 18th and the second from Sunday 27th November to Friday 2nd December. During most of the school hours, we would be out on field taking measurements. I hope to make some shared time with the students of Yallingup Steiner School where it fits for the students of both schools to interact and get to know each other if that works for you. Mostly it will be a busy practical time of taking measurements, calculating figures and drawing maps.
What I need is an area of land that needs basic surveying. As we are learning and using the old (non-electronic) equipment, we need it fairly simple. Ideally it would be quite cleared (easy lines of visibility), relatively basic in structure (such as subdividing a small rural block up to about 3 ha). I am hoping that someone in your community has a need for this so that the students can experience it as meaningful.
