Power of the senses grows Joined to divine deeds And draws the force of thought Downward to the dimness of a dream. If divine being Is to join with my soul Human thought must Calmly yield to dreamlife. Calendar of the Soul -Rudolf Steiner

Week 9
Dear Families,
Welcome to the final newsletter for the year. In this edition we make special and heartfelt mention of our graduating students, the Class of 2024.
There is always a mixture of feelings for everyone when a group moves forward and out from the YSS fold. This year our reflections amongst the College of Teachers have predominantly amounted to a collective celebration of the progress and development of each of the individual boys that make up the group guided so diligently by teacher Erin Edwards to graduation. Much has come to pass during the time that these students have been with us and the virtues of resilience, steadfastness, hopefulness, joy, creativity, sensitivity and determination are clearly written in to each one’s character.
The tangible benefits of delivering a rich and diverse integrated curriculum are continually observable over time and all commendation is made to the parents and extended families who have supported and joined the school staff during the time the children have been in our care.
I would also like to take time to acknowledge the parents who are also departing at the conclusion of the term. For some, it has been a good many years as part of the ever-evolving history of the school. May you hold the school in positive light, we wish you well.
There is much excitement amongst the children as we draw close to the summer festival and reverently acknowledge the spirit of Christmas within the school.
Please refer to SchoolStream for updates regarding the end of year activities and festivities. I hope to see you all in person at some stage, to wish you a wonderful holiday, and I already look forward to welcoming the 2025 cohorts back in February.
Warmest Regards,
Jacqui
Class One Teacher 2025
It is with great delight that the College of Teachers wish to announce the Class One teacher for 2025. Erin Edwards will be beginning a new cycle of class teaching with the incoming butterflies, beginning February next year.
The commitment that Erin has to the workings of our school is gratefully acknowledged and we are very comfortable welcoming the next cohort into Erin’s capable Care. We extend a very warm welcome to the parents, carers and extended families and look forward to getting to know you all throughout the years of your children’s primary education.
Best wishes to Erin.
Class 6
Term four has been a very busy term for Class Six, in their last term at YSS. The culmination of their studies of Ancient Rome was a performance of the Roman comedy, Mostellaria or The Haunted House, by Plautus. A story over 1000 years old, this comedy still tells a relatable story of “When the cat’s away, the mouse will play” as one little lie grows bigger and bigger.
Following their performance, the class went away on their final camp with the theme of listening and communication. They spent two days at Jesters Flat in Margaret River learning horsemanship, communication and horseriding skills. On the third camp day, we journeyed to Sound Relaxation Margaret River. We had a little talk about sound, experienced some sound physics through some hands on exercises with Singing Bowls and gongs before finishing in a Sound Meditation.
