With autumn begins to dim The stimulation of sense; Veils of thick mist Mix with bursts of light. I myself gaze into space To see autumn's wintry sleep. Summer has given me The offer of itself. Calendar of the Soul -Rudolf Steiner

We acknowledge the Wadandi (Saltwater people) as the traditional custodians of these lands, skies and waterways where we come together at Yallingup Steiner School, and where learning has taken place for thousands of years.
We extend this respect to all First Nations people and thank the Ancestors, Elders, and custodians of the Wadandi community, who have cared for and continue to nurture Country, in their many restoration projects, community and cultural research and spiritual wisdom of the earth as sacred.

Welcome to Week 6
Dear Families,
Today I have had the pleasure of spending some time teaching in the Class One room. What a privilege it is to have the attention of these open and curious souls.
To offer a story and engage in some active skills practice in an orchestrated session of concentration, celebration and connection.
It is always so sweet when a child quietly shares an anecdote from their own life experience, opening conversation, seeking response and offering trust. These are precious exchanges held and developed by teachers every day as they build trusting relationships with their students.
The power of the group dynamic that holds the individual students while they find their own becoming is carefully curated by inspired planning and attention to detail in the classroom environment.
I would like to congratulate and thank Ruth and Julie for their collaborative efforts to procure such a lovely space for the cohort. It was so easy to step in and get down to work with the students, who were clearly so ready and receptive amidst the considered preparations.
Equally, we have great appreciation for you as parents and guardians, presenting your children to school each day in readiness for receiving the lessons prepared by their teachers. Beautiful lunches prepared with care, children well rested, hats, shoes, hair… the long list of daily tasks that can be both the simplest and most complicated of accomplishments, depending on the day!
Education success requires a collaborative effort, where we all hold the best interests of students at the centre of all our strivings. Surrounding them with positivity, compassion and developmental understanding.
Lucky for us that the children of themselves call us to continually rise up to the job at hand, by simply being themselves. Perfection existing in each and every one.
Make it a great day everyone,
Warm Regards,
Jacqui Morris

Wellbeing Officer Introduction
My name is Catherine Reid, and I’m the Wellbeing Officer here at school. I work closely with teachers to support student engagement and emotional regulation, offering individual support when needed and providing opportunities for children to be positively engaged in a chat or a small activity that helps them feel okay. I aim to create positive relationships with the whole school community, promoting kindness, empathy, and a strong sense of belonging here at YSS.
During lunch breaks, I will offer simple games or small craft activities for students who may benefit from a quieter space. These moments allow children to sit with me, unwind, and simply ‘be’, while also giving them the opportunity to talk if they need a listening ear. My aim is to create gentle, supportive connections that help each child feel grounded and confident.
I am at school two days a week—Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 am. I am always approachable and feel very grateful to be working with the wonderful staff and students at Yallingup Steiner School.
P&F: Everlastings Fundraiser
An order form for Everlastings will be sent home with your child this afternoon. Please keep an eye out for it when your child returns from school.
Half of the purchase price for each order goes directly to supporting the school. Your participation helps the P&F provide valuable resources and opportunities for our students.
Please return completed order forms to either the office or your child’s class teacher. The deadline for returning orders is Monday, 30 March.
Thank you for your support.
Please look out for an order form for Everlastings that will go home with your child this afternoon. 50% of purchase price goes directly to the school. Please return your order to the office/class teacher by Monday 30th March. Thank you.
P&F: Easter Crafting Afternoon
Class 2
Class Two began the term with a Main Lesson on Celtic Tales with the children listening to stories of Fionn McCool, the King of Ireland and to finish, Mickey and the King of the Fairies, a fable-like story about kindness. We painted the Salmon of Knowledge, made oat cakes, and wrote and drew the stories in our Main Lesson books.
Class Two have been busy knitting with Jilly and Erin. They have finished their recorder bags, ready for beginning recorder lessons this term. Now they are learning the purl stitch by knitting a rainbow ball.

FAQs Regarding School Dental Services
FAQs regarding School Dental Services (Dunsborough Dental Van)
1.
My child has not been seen since a while ago; can I book an appointment for a checkup?
Our service runs on a waitlist system, your child is still currently on our waitlist, our staff are doing their best to reduce the waitlist so that every child can be seen sooner. Currently, there is a 2 to 3 year wait before your child can be seen again. However, if your child has trauma or severe toothache, we can see them as emergencies and treat them accordingly to get them out of pain or discomfort.
2.
My child is in Pre-Primary this year, how do I enrol them in the school dental service?
Currently, the clinic does not complete enrolments. All enrolments are processed in the head office by a centralized system for the whole state. Enrolment forms will be issued in due course for all children with instructions for enrolling your child. If your child has a trauma or severe toothache, we can enrol them in the clinic as emergency if they are eligible.
3.
One of my children is attending high school, can they still be seen by the service?
Yes, every enrolled school aged child from 5 years to 17 years old is eligible for the service at any clinic. If your child was seen by the clinic when they were 16 years old, they will no longer be eligible for the service the following year.
