We acknowledge the Wadandi (Saltwater people) as the traditional custodians of these lands, skies and waterways where we come together at Yallingup Steiner School, and where learning has taken place for thousands of years.
We extend this respect to all First Nations people and thank the Ancestors, Elders, and custodians of the Wadandi community, who have cared for and continue to nurture Country, in their many restoration projects, community and cultural research and spiritual wisdom of the earth as sacred.

Welcome to Term 3
As we gather again at the start of a new school term, we extend a heartfelt welcome to all families in our school, each term begins with a sense of possibility: fresh rhythms, renewed friendships, and the quiet joy of children stepping back into the life of the classroom and playground.
We also carry with us the quiet beauty of the Winter Festival that brought last term to a close. The lantern light, shared songs, and sense of stillness offered a gentle reminder of warmth, courage, and community in the heart of the season of Makuru. It was a magical and meaningful way for children, families, and teachers to pause together before the winter break.
The beginning of term is a special time to reconnect with the steady, nourishing routines that support learning and wellbeing. Through story, song, movement, handwork, practical activity, and time in nature, the children are invited to settle, grow, and meet the world with curiosity and confidence.
Our dedicated staff participated in a professional development session yesterday that brought reflective conversations and experience to considerations of Steiner Education worldwide and the crafting of curriculum activities that resonate with the underpinning of our system while meeting the needs of our individual students in the sociocultural context of our little Yallingup campus.
We touched on the work of Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe, who’s immense body of work was highly influential in the life of Rudolf Steiner. We specifically focused on his colour theories and how they have shaped the approach to working artistically with children in Steiner schools.
We are grateful for the warmth and care that each family brings to our school community. May this term be filled with meaningful work, gentle discoveries, shared celebrations, and many moments of connection. We look forward to walking this next part of the year together.
A new working group is coming together to dedicate some time caring for our native gardens on campus, if you would like to be a part of the contribution, it will be nice to see you on Thursday. Details are on the SchoolStream app.

Jump Rope for Heart
This term Yallingup Steiner School are participating in a Jump Rope for Heart program. All Primary School students aim to skip for 15 minutes each day, with new ropes donated to us by the Heart Foundation.
For now C2/C3/C6 will skip at 8.45am, while C4/C1/C5 will skip at 10.30am under enthusiastic direction from their teachers. Kindergarten children continue to skip regularly as they have always done.
Jump Rope for Heart is one of Australia’s most loved physical activity and fundraising programs. It’s designed to get students skipping to good health as it’s an ideal exercise for healthy hearts, muscles, and bones, while raising funds to help the Heart Foundation fight heart disease. More information will go home with students.
